Hollywood actor Richard Gere is reportedly in talks to star on UK reality show Strictly Come Dancing.
The 60-year-old Pretty Woman star is allegedly being lined up by bosses for a one-off dance with a professional dancer as they battle to beat rival show The X Factor in the ratings.
A source said to British newspaper The Sun: “The BBC is desperate to woo back viewers who have switched to The X Factor.
“ITV is hammering the show in the ratings so bosses think getting some high-profile names on will do the trick. Mariah Carey and Pamela Anderson are also being lined up.”
The show refused to confirm if Gere would be making an appearance, but a spokesman said that producers are in talks with some celebrities about going on to the show.
