Celebrity couple David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have snapped up the latest celebrity trend – the micro-pig.

The pair have acquired two of the tea-cup-sized pets, which are currently being pampered by staff at the couple’s “Beckingham Palace” in Hertfordshire, England.

The special crossbreed piglets come with a designer price-tag of £700 ($1,159) each.

The former Spice Girls singer is said to want to name the piglets Elton and David after their close friends Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, while football star Becks is reportedly keen to call them Pinky and Perky.

Micro-pigs weigh just 9oz at birth and measure only 14in tall when fully grown.

The pedigree pigs are already popular with other celebrities, including Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, who is thought to own one, and Paris Hilton.

Breeder Jane Croft, 42, said: “Demand for micro-pigs is soaring and we are inundated with enquiries every day.

“It’s amazing how popular they have suddenly become and just how many people want pigs as pets.”

The England football star was photographed with Mariann Fogarsay after a match in Budapest, and a French gossip magazine claimed the couple shared a romantic candlelit dinner.

But Beckham has hit out at the report, insisting: “I have no desire for other women. I only love Victoria. Ninety per cent of what is written about us is invented. The last one was this story about the Hungarian model.”

He added: “I have never been out to dinner with this young lady. If I took the time to deny every story, I wouldn’t have time to be a footballer.

‘I do not flirt with other women – I exist only for Victoria. Victoria will be in the stand on Sunday to watch me play against Juventus.”
