Hannah Montana Goes Down

Ratings for the once popular Disney show ‘Hannah Montana’ are down which should make Disney quite upset that their cash flow is dwindling to a trickle. Don’t blame Vanity Fair though as there are reports that indicate that the show has been on a decline even before her scandal. According to the Nielsen Company, the audience for Sunday’s new ‘Hannah Montana’ episode fell 14% from the previous fresh episode which aired less than 2 months earlier. Compared to the first original show of the year which aired in January, viewers for Sunday’s show went down 26%. If that’s the case, there’s really no one to blame but Miley.

Miley ‘Hannah Montana’ Cyrus Replaces Britney Spears

Miley ‘Hannah Montana’ Cyrus Replaces Britney Spears

Comedy Central’s South Park just did an episode which parodied Britney Spears and the world’s obsession with her. The now recovering pop star isn’t so much skewered herself but the paparazzi who follow her and her poor management. Well that was a little on the nice side. Sadly, through a series of events, Brit ends up blowing her head off with a shotgun. And who did the creators choose to take her place in the pop world? None other than Miley ‘Hannah Montana’ Cyrus. There’s a shout out to Miley somewhere on the episode. Considering how Miley’s been, I think it’s a “suitable” replacement.

Simon Cowell of American Idol likes to Spy

Creepy?  Yeah, I think so.

Simon Cowell has installed a telescope in his kitchen so he can check out what’s going on with his neighbors around him.  These neighbors include Leo DiCaprio, Christina Aguilera, and John Travolta.

He says in the London Mirror, “It isn’t powerful enough to see into their homes - so you can’t see them in shower - but you can see into their gardens.  It’s great fun.  I just like to keep an eye on what is happening.”

Simon shares his Hollywood mansion with his girlfriend Terri Seymour.  Sad life, wishing he was like the others.

American Idol Top 12

Spies inside American Idol said that the Idol party that went down after last week’s elimination was fueled with emotion and a little bitterness. It’s being said that castoff Asia’h Epperson was torn up and overwhelmed, staying only for a few minutes before leaving. Most were especially upset with Luke Menard leaving as he was probably the most liked of the bunch. Danny Noriega and Ramiele Malubay were pretty wrecked over the former’s elimination. It looks like someone found a BFF. It’s too bad that they had to part ways so soon. Spies also says that while all the contestants were there, there was no sign of the 3 judges or Ryan.

Pete Doherty to help addicts

Pete Doherty to help addicts

Pete Doherty will help young heroin addicts in a new TV show.

The troubled Babyshambles singer, who is battling his own addiction to the class A drug, plans to visit two of northern England’s toughest housing estates and use music to encourage them to get straight.

Pete will live with families on Manchester’s Langley Estate and work with a young offenders’ group in Sheffield’s Manor Park in a series of music-based therapy sessions. The 28-year-old musician’s experiences will be filmed for a Channel 4 show, which is due to be aired later this year.

A source said: ‘Pete really hopes to be able to use his own experiences to help these youths. Hopefully they will be inspired by his visit.’

The star’s drug problems have been well documented. He was pictured last week with suspicious white powder on his nose and blood coming out of one of his nostrils.

Last November, Pete was filmed snorting what appeared to be cocaine just days after vowing to return to rehab. He had agreed to enter a facility after being filmed injecting heroin at his Wiltshire home. Pete has previously claimed he dreams of using drugs again and was “mourning for an armful”.

Is he really in a position to “help” others?

Ever want to watch a day in the life of Lindsay? Not that it’s much other than rehab, arrest, party, arrest, rehab, party…you get the drift.

Apparently her family is more than happy to let us (and the rest of the world) in on all things Lohan. Lindsay’s mom, Dina, is planning a reality show with dad Michael and little sister Ali. It’s going to be called Living Lohan and will air on E! network.

Billie Piper: I’ll adopt a poor kid

TV stars Billie Piper and Laurence Fox are planning to adopt a baby.

Billie, 25, and Laurence, 29, are keen to have a large family. And the couple, who wed in a secret New Year’s Eve ceremony, have told select family and friends they may adopt their first child and give a home to a needy baby.

A close source said: “Billie is one of four children and Laurence has a huge extended family. Her dream is her, Laurence and a big brood of kids running around barefoot in their Sussex home with chickens. One of the reasons she and Laurence married just a few months after meeting was because Billie was already feeling broody and she wanted to be in wedlock when she started a family.”

Doctor Who and Diary of a Call Girl star Billie eloped to Las Vegas without telling her parents to wed first husband Chris Evans in 2001. But the source added: “Billie really sees the value in family much more than she did before. Her home is a constant flurry of visitors and phone calls, and that’s just how she likes it. She can’t wait to have her own kids to add to the equation.”

Billie said last year: “I’m terribly broody. I haven’t always been. Back then I thought, I can’t imagine having a child, and only now I really can.”

Flavor Flav: The Playa

Umm, so it’s almost time for Season Three of Flavor of Love. Remember the first season? Flavor Flav picked Hoopz and was eventually dumped. Season Two, he never even called Deelishis.

Now, he’s up for Season Three, and he’s gotta do it since he’s already cashed the check VH1 payed him. But he’s engaged. Yep, that’s right, engaged!

Apparently, after he jilted winner Deelishis, he met a woman, got her pregnant, and decided he was in love with her. He says he is only doing Season Three “for his family”.

American Idol Ratings Drop

American Idol Ratings Drop

American Idol returned to the television airwaves on Tuesday with its worst premiere in four years. The season premiere’s ratings were down 13% from last year and down 10% from 2006. Maybe Chris Daughtry’s rant on his launch pad has some merit after all.

But to Idol fans out there, don’t fret so much. The show is not completely dead as it was still the most watched show on TV Tuesday night. However, the decline in viewers does not bode well for the aging show. It’s only downhill from here. The winner for this season should just head to Broadway immediately than risk being dropped like his or her predecessors.

Leon looks for £25k for 3 songs

Leon looks for £25k for 3 songs

It seems X-Factor winner Leon Jackson has greedy agents. If you want him to sing at your club you will be asked to fork out a whopping £25,000 for him to perform just three songs.

This has got one Glasgow club boss fuming. Carlo Citti, manager of Glasgow club Campus explained, “ I couldn’t believe it when they asked me to fork out £25,000 for him to play my club on December 27 or Hogmanay.”

Livid Carlo was even told the fee would be the same over the coming months and was not higher than normal because of the festive period.

He added: “I think it’s ridiculous when I can get David Hasselhoff for £15,000, Peter Andre and Jordan for £7,000, rapper Coolio for £3,000 and the MacDonald Brothers for £2,500. Only Girls Aloud charge £25,000 and there’s five of them.”

Talk about too big for your boots Leon…

Lily Allen to Work

Lily Allen was spotted as she makes her way to dinner with a friend in Hackney, East London on Thursday with her expanding tummy being covered by a red coat. She works Little Red Riding Hood so well, don’t you think?

Speaking of work, don’t expect her unexpected pregnancy to interfere with her day job. Lily has made it clear that she intends to finish her new album within the next 6 months and also plans to start her own TV show. I say, take it easy Lily. You should enjoy your pregnancy. All that hard work and the stress it can bring isn’t going to be good for the baby you know.

Kerry Katona Skint

We all hate the taxman but when you compare your bill to ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona you will feel much better. The ex-singer faces a whopping £700,000 in taxes, with the first instalment of £200,000 due before Christmas. But she can’t pay it.

In a desperate bid to avoid being made bankrupt Kerry is heading to court to beg for a delay until after the New Year.

On top of that Kerry has recently admitted she can’t say that she will stay off the drugs; despite recently declaring she was clean. She revealed to TV chat show host Jonathon Ross, “I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. I can never say never. I really can’t”

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Kerry needs to get her head out of the clouds and sort herself out; before she ends up on the scrap heap like many others before her.

X-Factor Sore Loser

Rhydian Roberts

Or is he? Despite being odds on favourite to win, opera singer Rhydian Roberts was defeated in Saturday night’s talent show final.

The Welsh star is convinced that the results of the contest were rigged when rival Leon Jackson received ten percent more votes than he did. He isn’t a sore loser though…he has come to this conclusion after a huge number of fans have complained that they couldn’t get through to vote for him, but claim they got straight through when they tried Leon’s line.

Producers claim that a large volume of calls caused the voting bottleneck and insist that the contest was not rigged. However broadcasting watchdogs Ofcom will investigate the row after receiving 80 official complaints from viewers. Especially if you look back on the past year of TV phoneline and quiz scandals.

You never know the results of X-Factor could be reversed. Doesn’t matter anyway as Rhydian has a big money record contract regardless.

Other Party from Collins’ Accident Dies

Other Party from Collins' Accident Dies

Yikes! An accident is bad enough; a death is horrific.

Back in October, 89-year-old Warren Gates allegedly didn’t yield to oncoming traffic and ran into a car driven by former TV host Gary Collins. While it was stated that the wreck was the fault of Gates, Collins was charged with a DUI.

Gates has been hospitalized since the accident and sources say he passed away on Friday. According to police officer Ana Aguirre, “It’s up to the coroners to determine whether Mr. Gates died as a result of trauma from the accident. There’s going to be a follow-up investigation after the autopsy is completed.”

Collins pled no contest to the DUI and will serve four days in jail.

Sad…so sad. Really, they should institute a maximum driving age or at least administer driving tests again.

Osborne’s auction off household items

Osborne’s auction off household items

It’s not like they don’t have enough money, I think the auction in with the Osbornes’ are trying to sell over 600 objects from their Beverly Hills home is an attempt of “staying active” on the media stage.

Sharon and Ozzy might make over a million dollars from the auction. They claim the auction’s purpose is mainly to free up their lives and that it would be a shame to simply through everything away, because each object has a special meaning and loads of memories buried deep within it.

The couple is trying to sell off some of their kids stuff, as they moved out from the home and left lots of furniture behind. Personally, I would keep my children’s rooms as a remembering, but everyone does what he or she thinks it’s best and I think Sharon can’t resist the urge of re-decorating her kids’ previous rooms.

Dr. Drew does Celebrity Rehab

Dr. Drew does Celebrity Rehab

What a great concept. Forget that Betty Ford set that up eons ago.

Anyway, Dr. Drew (who we all know and adore from MTV’s Loveline) is heading over to VH1 for a new show called “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew”. Catchy title, isn’t it?

The “stars” we’ll get to watch will go to a treatment facility for their addictions. Included in the lineup are Daniel Baldwin, Seth Binzer (”Crazy Town”), Jeff Conaway (”Taxi”, “Grease”), Joanie “Chyna Doll” Laurer, Brigitte Nielsen, and Jessica Sierra (formerly on “American Idol).

Dr. Drew is hoping that this show is going to make people think differently about celebrities and their addictions. He hopes viewers will be more sympathetic and realize that they are just human beings dealing with problems that afflict us all.

He says, “There is a stigma with addiction. I’m hoping that this program sort of removes some of the stigmaby helping people understand what a human condition this is, how painful it is, and the context in which it operates.”

Only difference between us and them? We can’t afford the stuff in the first place.

J.K. Rowling Named Entertainer of the Year

J.K. Rowling Named Entertainer of the Year

Entertainment Weekly released its list of 2007s top entertainers. They gave kudos to J.K. Rowling, the author of the popular Harry Potter series. She has sold nearly 400 million copies of her books and is praised for getting “people to tote around her big, old-fashioned printed-on-paper books as if they were the hottest new entertainment devices on the planet”.

The magazine separates entertainers into five categories that read like a high school “Who’s Who”. Rowling was alone in the “prodigies” category.

Other winners include George Clooney, Will Smith, and Angelina Jolie as “valedictorians”; Matt Damon, Carrie Underwood, Kanye West, Johnny Depp, and Katherine Heigl as “Most Popular”; Tina Fey, Vanessa Williams, and Judd Apatow as “Class Clowns”; and Amy Winehouse, Tyler Perry, and Gerard Butler as “Most Buzz-worthy”.

Turns out Harry Potter really IS magical…

Maybe Hogan Doesn’t Know Best

Maybe Hogan Doesn't Know Best

Hulk Hogan received a shocking bit of news from a Times reporter Friday night. His wife of 24 years has filed for divorce.

Hogan’s immediate response was to thank the reporter for the news. He called back a few minutes later and said, “I’m kind of shocked. You caught me off guard. My wife has been in California for about three weeks. Holy smokes. Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me. I just pulled over to the side of the road for five minutes to find out what was going on here.”

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, and wife Linda Marie Bollea have two children, Brooke, age 19, and Nick, age 17. The family recently starred in their own reality show on VH1 entitled Hogan Knows Best. In July 2005, around the premier of the magazine, Hogan shared in an interview with People magazine, “My wife and I are very intense, very passionate, very loving. Our family if pretty basic and old school, and now we’ve kind of become cool because we’re just as intense as anyone else, but we run a really tight ship.”

Apparently the ship wasn’t tight enough because Hogan’s son Nick has recently been in the news. He is currently facing felony charges for reckless driving. He lost control of his Toyota Supra in August and slammed into a tree. His passenger, friend John Graziano, suffered a brain injury.

Intense as they are, maybe being in the spotlight herself was too much for Linda. Or maybe with Hogan, we can’t believe everything we see on television.

UK Television at its finest

UK Television at its finest Emmy

During the 35th annual Emmy competition, most winners were shows originated in Great Britain.People seem to appreciate more British humor series and dramas, as Emmy nominations show. BBC ruled the evening, winning with almost every nomination they got.

They succeed in seven from their eight proposals, furthermore every part of them except one were shows created by BBC. BBC officials feel they just got lucky, and revealed to press representants how they were pleasantly surprised by their success at Emmys.
The funny thing is that Jim Broadbent , the actor from drama show called The Street, got home with two Emmys, because unexpectedly he managed to win in the same year best comedy with the funny show Little Britain Abroad.
