Fergie talks about her former drug abuse issues in an interview for Marie Claire. She said she was once so strung out that she thought the FBI was after her. “I had about 20 different conspiracy theories. I painted the windows in my apartment black so ‘they’ couldn’t see in.”

She continues, “One day, when I was about 90 pounds, a guy comes up to me…I’m searching in the bushes for clues about whatever they’re after me for. I’m in a cowboy hat and red lips. He hands me a muffin. I’m thinking, he’s in on it.”

Fergie is refusing to rush into planning her wedding to Josh Duhamel.

The Black Eyed Peas star and ‘Las Vegas’ actor Josh got engaged in December after dating for three years, but the 32-year-old singer is determined to take her time and make sure the nuptials are perfect.

She said: “I have a big stack of wedding magazines, and I’ve never picked one up before in my life. I’ve been touring for a long time, and I want to go home this summer and spend time with my family and get in the studio and just take some time to think about everything.”

The ‘London Bridge’ star - who was recently revealed as the new face of MAC make-up’s Viva Glam campaign - also insists she takes her position as a role model very seriously and is keen to promote safe sex to her fans.

She added, “I think I can be very helpful to some of these people. I know certain people who are very proud of having unprotected sex and the fact that they haven’t caught anything yet. But that’s not right.”

Fergie – no stranger to tabloid attention – says she can relate to what Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan are going through. Fergie, whose own time in rehab was for a crystal meth addiction, says that Spears and Lohan should ignore the media attention and focus on their problems. So what do we have here, a druggie telling the other, hey never mind girls continue what you are doing these guys who speak against you have no idea what kind of fun the others are missing out on, or is it this way – hey girls go wreck yourself the way I did and hope you do not kill yourself, look I am alive and that’s a good example I’ve set for you. And what the 20-something stars need, says the 32-year-old Black Eye Peas singer, is some breathing room so they can help themselves. And we all know what they like to breath, those smoking on drugs and then taking on a high and feeling some kind of rotten freedom. Fergie you shut your mouth first, we’ll all have some breathing space.
