Kirstie Alley will battle bulge for Oscar dream
Kirstie Alley has vowed to battle the bulge to give her Oscar hopes a fighting chance.
The former Cheers beauty revealed her lifetime goal is to win an Academy Award during the premiere of her new reality TV show Kirstie Alley’s Big Life on Sunday night.
But in order to land Oscar-worthy movie roles, the 59-year-old mum-of-two believes she must first drop down from 16st to a slender 9st 7lbs.
“Life is made up of decisions all lined up like 10 little soldiers beckoning us to decide,” she said.
“Now I’m forced to decide between getting fit and going for an Oscar – my life’s dream – and staying fat and being known for keeping cats and lemurs.”
In her mission, she has enlisted the help of her own handyman Jim, who will be her workout buddy, as well as hunky personal trainer JR, whom she hired after ogling his six-pack online.
The A&E series also features Kirstie’s two children, William, 17, and 15-year-old Lillie, as well as her assistants, Kelly and Kyle.
After falling in love with a sexy white chiffon gown, the notorious yo-yo dieter promised herself she’d fit into it by New Year’s Eve.
Gazing at the floaty, jewelled dress presented by her stylist, she said: “This inspires me for real. I can’t believe I f*****g got f*****g fat again.”
