Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie treated their children to a kids party in Venice.

The mega-star couple took their four eldest children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh – to a children’s birthday party in the city of water. Angelina Jolie is on location for The Tourist with Johnny Depp.

Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, Jolie’s director on the movie, threw the party with his wife. He has three young children. The Jolie-Pitt clan travelled by water taxi to the celebration.

The pair are likely a no-show for the Oscars this year. Family seem to have taken a front seat for Pitt and Jolie, who recently reconciled with her long-estranged father, actor Jon Voight, 71.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have launched a lawsuit against a UK tabloid over reports they were splitting up and dividing their sizeable fortune and assets, according to their London lawyers.

The News Of The World report on January 24 was widely circulated in international media.

Schillings law firm has taken its case on behalf of the superstars to the High Court in London.

Keith Schilling of the firm said the News Of The World failed to meet the couple’s “reasonable demands” for a retraction of the story and apology “for these false and intrusive allegations which have now been widely republished by mainstream news outlets”.

He said in a statement: “We have advised them to bring proceedings which they have now done.”

Meanwhile a top Los Angeles divorce attorney, Sorrell Trope, said she had never been contacted by either member of the couple.

Pitt, 46, and Jolie, 34, have six children but remain unmarried. The UK paper put their assets at £205million ($320million).

Brad Pitt has reportedly spent $150 to clean up his scruffy goatee.

The Inglourious Basterd had been sporting a look that would have been more appropriate for Pirates Of The Caribbean.

But the beaded beard was finally dispensed with over the weekend before the movie hunk’s appearance at the Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday night.

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii professionally groomed Pitt’s facial hair before the show, according to reports.

According to the Neil George Salon website, where Babaii works, hair services begin at $150.

Babaii also gave Angelina Jolie her wavy new cut, according to the stylist’s publicist.

Inside the awards Pitt, 46, and Jolie, 34, were “affectionate”, according to a mole – despite reports suggesting the pair have been arguing and on the verge of splitting.

Actor Brad Pitt’s co-star says he’s a “fine drinking buddy”.

Pitt’s co-star in Quentin Tarantino’s hit film Inglourious Basterds, Samm Levine, has revealed that Brad likes a drink.

Samm told Usmagazine.com: “Oh, he’s a fine drinking buddy.”

He added: “Between Brad and Quentin, I would die of alcohol poisoning on day two if I had to keep up with those guys!”

While he attended the recent Sundance Film Festival, Levine also said that the 46-year-old was “great” to work with.

The 27-year-old added: “Brad and I had a great talk about accents because I loved the accent that he was doing, and we had a wonderful fun time.”

Brad Pitt will soon acquire a winemaker’s nose for a bouquet.

Moving into a French chateau with partner Angelina Jolie and their six children will make a course in winemaking a near necessity for the Hollywood heart-throb. The couple has now taken up residence in the Chateau Miraval estate that is south of France.

Pitt, who commented that it was the one place where his children could live an ordinary life, has a vineyard in which to learn the basics of the grape.

A source told a US magazine: “He loves learning how it’s made.”

Rosie O’Donnell, whose troubled marriage recently made headlines, claims Angeline Jolie once tried to chat her up, according to the UK Sun.

The 47-year-old television star, who is in a lesbian civil union with Kelli Carpenter, said she and Jolie flirted for hours on the phone after Jolie had broken up with ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller.

The reportedly bisexual Jolie was looking for love on the LA party circuit at the time, according to the Sun.

O’Donnell claimed Jolie’s sexuality scared her off. She said: “Angie did call me and we talked. She suddenly said, ‘I wanna come see you.’ There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through. I was a little afraid of her. She’s scary in a sexual kind of way.”

O’Donnell now regrets passing up the opportunity and says she has dreams about Jolie, who is now partnered with Brad Pitt.

The actor received an award made of chocolate and resembling his face from the deodorant brand AXE in order to make up for not nailing any Oscars this year at the Academy Awards. The award Brad Pitt received came with the following message: “We still feel your performance deserves a statue, one that’s a bit sweeter.” How nice of AXE to think of Brad Pitt who is most assuredly frustrated that he missed out on an Academy Award. Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has taken to his blog again to list his ‘Top 9 Gripes of 2008’ and his ‘Top 9 Favorites of 2008’. Oddly enough, Brad Pitt’s latest movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ made both lists. On his favorites list, he said of the movie “It’s weird that I put this on both lists but the truth is you can’t deny [Director David] Fincher’s eyes for film. Also, I give it to Brad Pitt for picking interesting roles. The idea of this narrative is mind-blowing and at times I fell for the story.” On his gripes list, he pretty much said that it was over hyped in his own head and it just didn’t measure to how he imagined it to be.

Power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie denied that a $200-million pre-nuptial agreement is in the offing if they do decide to get married. There were reports that the couple already signed the agreement which outlined in detail the disposition of their properties and children if they decide to split after the marriage. Jolie’s representatives however these are false claims.

The couple’s previous statements are signs that they may already be prepared for the big thing. Jolie was previously heard saying that their children are bound to ask them why they are not married. Pitt on the other hand, said he would we4d Jolie the moment they feel it is important to their kids.

The marriage and pre-nuptial rumors are not the only things bugging Jolie though because she is also rumored to be pregnant. The rumor was allegedly brought about by Jolie herself when she declared she was pregnant while dining in a London restaurant and declining the drink offered by the waiter.

True or not, it is clear that the couple is looking forward to more children in the future to add to their brood which already includes the 7-year old Maddox, 5-year old Pax, 3-year old Zahara, 2-year old Shiloh and the 4-month old twins Viv and Knox.

Zahara is legally Angelina Jolie’s and Brad Pitt’s child! Her adoption was first approved in 2005 and has since been ruled legal by the agency. This ruling squashes the rumors that Zahara is going back to Ethiopia because the woman that gave her up wants her back. I can never see her going back to her country – that would be silly. She lives a comfortable life here. However, if her mother gave her up b/c of poverty, disease and famine and not out of lack of love then I think she deserves to be able to at least know how the child is doing. That family obviously gave her up because they didn’t have a pot to piss in and thought the child would die… how can you fault them for being poor? I’m sure there is plenty more to the stories but if they genuinely wanted to know how she was then maybe Miss Sympathetic, Compassionate Jolie could extend the kindness of touching base and keeping them informed.

We have never seen such chaos and star power as we did last night– Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie certainly made their presence felt. Why is it that when angie goes to brad’s movie premieres she at least gives an effort to look the part. He just looks like a complete dirtbag! Probably sporting’ the cap b/c he didn’t shower. Would it hurt to throw on a tie and jacket and look like a real man? She had some skimpy high cut dress/skirt on under that ridiculous winter coat… at least she dressed up though. Brad and Angelina having more kids! They should consider marriage don’t you think? I don’t understand how they keep getting these kids even though they are not married. Not that I’m downing their decision I think taking on more children is admirable especially if you could afford it. They do have to raise these children and what kind of message are they sending to them. And what about their back ground (culture) most come from very different back grounds will they have time to teach them. Will they make time to learn themselves maybe they should consider this before trying to have more children? I love that they adopt children from different part of the world and keep all the kids together but once these kids starting going to school and all they will face resistance from fellow schoolmates about where they come from. Well ultimately it’s their family and their children so I think that we guys should just shut up and let them do that they wanna do. Just make sure there’s no sex tape coming from here.

Somebody must have been asleep at the velvet rope. Brad Pitt was shaken but not stirred Sunday when an overzealous fan managed to get by security and throw her arms around the actor as he walked the red carpet with Angelina Jolie at the Venice Film Festival. “The security team must have been embarrassed that somebody got so close to him. She could have been anyone. Brad didn’t look too happy.” I think the security personnel were a new team who might have never seen Brad and Jolie upfront and they might have dosed off seeing the beautiful couple together and would have forgotten they were on duty and had a job to do. But this is a major goof up at this prestigious international film festival and something that has been unheard of recently. May be the lady was a true Brad Pitt fan and merely wanted an autograph. But the poor lady couldn’t have the last laugh and was sent out of the venue, I think Brad should have atleast been polite and let her have a picture of him and her together for her memories.
