David Beckham reportedly failed to make it onto The Simpsons for lack of sufficient fame.
The producers of the smash hit show with the unmistakeable quiffs did not feel Beckham had the star wattage for what was only to be a cameo, according to the UK Daily Mirror.
Al Jean, an executive producer, said: “I had to phone David Beckham to tell him sorry – I didn’t think he was a big enough star for an American audience.”
Beckham’s evolving hair of late would have put him in the running for the show, however. In a related development the very instantly famous Jedward was said to be under consideration. Jean conceded that there was no consensus on Beckham, who has resided in the US since 2007 under his soccer contract with LA Galaxy. He brought with him a very famous wife in former Spice Girl, Victoria.
Said Jean: “I got a lot of grief about that. Some people got angry about it and told me, ‘I bet you would have put George Best on’. But I would have turned him down too.”
UK celebs that have made it on include Ricky Gervais, Emily Blunt and Simon Cowell.
Victoria “Posh” Beckham has recently been on the up with her American career. But she is said to be miffed by missing out on a Vogue cover deal.
Beckham had already appeared on the cover of the fashion bible’s main competitor. Beckham’s trademark dresses have been favoured by the likes of Elle Macpherson and a clothing line she released is said to be doing well.
American Vogue’s iconic editor, Anna Wintour, is said to have rejected Posh because she has already appeared on the cover of Elle. A source said: “Victoria hoped to land the Vogue cover but it fell through weeks ago. She posed for Elle instead and now Vogue won’t consider her for at least four months.”
Beckham has appeared on the covers of British and Russian Vogue.

But Beckham has hit out at the report, insisting: “I have no desire for other women. I only love Victoria. Ninety per cent of what is written about us is invented. The last one was this story about the Hungarian model.”
He added: “I have never been out to dinner with this young lady. If I took the time to deny every story, I wouldn’t have time to be a footballer.
‘I do not flirt with other women – I exist only for Victoria. Victoria will be in the stand on Sunday to watch me play against Juventus.”

British chocolate maker Thornton has teamed up with Id-Iom, a Londom design group who is known for graffiti artwork. The partnership has created Celebrity Egg Heads featuring none other than David and Victoria Beckham. The Beck-eggs, along with other celebrity features, will be auctioned off as a benefit fundraiser for Barnado’s, a children’s charity.

He has been a sports person from the age of 10 or 14, I think he knows it’s a part of sports and can happen even while training in a practice session. This happens to the worst players and the best players, all he can do now is that hope that it heels quickly and between that time he enjoy watching his team perform well in his absence so that his team does not miss his services. I think with his international experience and exploits in the English Premier League he can still make a valuable contribution by passing on his experience to other team members.
