Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford turned up late to the premiere of his new film because President Obama stopped all the traffic.
Chace was in New York yesterday to attend the premiere of his new flick Twelve at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in downtown Manhattan.
But New York police stopped traffic to make way for the US President’s motorcade during his visit to the Big Apple yesterday.
The ensuing traffic chaos made it difficult for Crawford and the Twelve cast to attend their own premiere.
The 25-year-old actor told MTV News: “We shut down the street for the premiere and for me… and then Obama just swooped in – figures!
He added: “I mean, I called and invited him and texted him and he didn’t want to come, it’s just a mess!”
Crawford’s co-star 50 Cent said he was impressed with how much of the area was shut down for the President’s visit.
The US rapper said: “It’s interesting – the streets are blocked off for a few avenues. We had to go all the way around to get here, but he’s the President.”
Undoubtedly an interesting confrontation: Simon Cowell’s show, “American Idolâ€, apparently beat Barack Obama’s Inauguration Ball at ratings. The numbers are as follows: 12.5 rating/18 share for Simon Cowell’s crusade to create talent out of nothing and 9.4 rating/14 share for the new President’s big night. It must have been the republicans who were watching TV at the time and this why this little mishap occurred. It’s strange though since quite the number of celebrities were present at the event: Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Kanye West and so on. Makes you wonder…
As if we all cared one bit for what this nerd had to say. Kid Rock, you better know that a man of the ability of Barack Obama doesn’t need your support to know he’s created history. Just to put his name in the race where the world has already given thumbs up to his election Kid Rock came out and said the support the new American Prez.
The one positive thing that he said is that he hopes the Illinois senator’s victory at the polls earlier this month will change the world’s view of America as a “racist” nation.
The All Summer Long rocker says, “I’m patriotic so I’m just happy the people’s voice has been heard. I will support him until I have reason not to. It’s a great thing for black people. Black people were kind to me growing up and taught me hip-hop and the blues, so it’s good the U.S. has proved it’s not as racist as it’s sometimes portrayed.”
Thanks Kid you’ve made me really realize that now that you have said these words, I FEEL REALLY SECURE ABOUT THE FUTURE.
I was glad to see a lot of celebrities mingling with the little people by going out and voting this past Tuesday. Ryan Phillippe and Diddy were just some of the names there. Daddy-to-be Pete Wentz was also spotted at the election polls in Beverly Hills. He also shared something pretty interesting about a connection with Vice President-elect Joe Biden. He said “I would not be standing here actually in reality at all because my parents met working for Biden. They met on the campaign, so they have this particular affection for Joe. He came to their wedding. If it weren’t for Joe Biden, I would not exist as a human being.â€
