Erin Andrews peep-hole stalker gets 30 months in jail

An Illinois man who peep-hole stalked Erin Andrews was sentenced to 30 months in jail, UPI reports.

Michael David Barrett, 48, was convicted of peeping through hotel walls to film Andrews nude. Andrews is an ESPN sports reporter who Barrett went to extraordinary lengths to track down and record. He was ordered to pay $7366 in restitution.

Barrett posted the Andrews videos on the internet and planned to sell them to celebrity websites, federal authorities said. He pleaded guilty to charges that included intention to “harass or to cause substantial emotional distress”.

Andrews said her career has been ripped apart as a result. “I am subject to crude comments. I walk into stadiums, and fans make crude comments to me. I have nightmares about this sexual predator,” she told a court in December.

Andrews, 31, is making a comeback from her devastation and will soon join the contestants on this season’s Dancing With The Stars.
