A nude photograph of the imprisoned director Roman Polanski and his late wife, Sharon Tate, will be auctioned and is expected to bring in more than $10,000.

Christie’s auction house is putting the Polanski image under the hammer. Vice president Laura Paterson said: “It’s an important image. It certainly is provocative because of who the characters are. But it’s also a touching naked shot of a happy couple. And [David] Bailey does capture the ‘anything goes’ flavour of that period.”

Polanski, 76, has made headlines in recent months after being arrested in Switzerland at a film festival on 30-year-old charges pertaining to sex acts with a minor in California. He is expected to be extradited to the US. A pregnant Tate was tragically murdered by Charles Manson followers.

The photograph is a large-scale gelatin silver print and comes from a Bailey image taken in 1969. It shows the couple entwined and naked from the waist up.

Kim Kardashian was not impressed when her puppy Rocky peed on her designer handbag.

The 28-year-old star wrote on her Twitter page that she was not in a ‘good mood’ after her little dog urinated on the bag.

She wrote: “Rocky just peed on my new Birkin bag!!! I want to kill him! U have noooo idea how I feel right now! I know he’s a puppy but SERIOUSLY!”

She added: “And why does he stare at me like he did nothing wrong! LOL I am not in a good mood right now.”

The handbags by designer Hermes are a popular accessory with celebrities such as Victoria Beckham who is regularly seen with one on her arm.
