Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels wanted to quit his role as C-3PO on the first day of filming.
He said the uncomfortable costume made him want to quit from day one as he filmed scenes in the hot Tunisian desert.
He said: “I wanted to resign after the first day. It was so uncomfortable, it was so hot and I was all cut and scratched from the inside of the suit. Then the next day I would get back in and it cut and scratched me in all the same places. It was not much fun.
“Eventually, we cut the edges off, filed bits down, blocked off the sharp points and my wounds healed.”
Daniels added: “Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison [Ford] and me, we were all thinking the film was rubbish. It was only [the director] George Lucas who was there every day to make this wonderful vision of his.”

Taylor Lautner revealed his most bizarre encounter with a Twilight fan during a US chat show interview.
The young star, who plays Jacob Black in the successful vampire series, told Jay Leno: “We were at an autograph signing, I think it was in Denver. There was a mother, who was in her late forties and a teenage daughter. And the mother, she’s next in line and she’s getting ready, doing this dance, shaking and the daughter’s just chilling. So, the mother skips on up and she gets there, grabs my wrist and says ‘Taylor, I’m wearing the Team Taylor panties right now. Is there anyway I can take them off for you and have you sign them quick?’”
Luckily for Lautner security stepped in and told the woman that won’t be happening and escorted her away.
The 17-year-old actor, who is a keen American Football fan, also got an opportunity to show off his skills by throwing and catching a ball to NFL legend Jerry Rice in the studio.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon is out this Friday.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been granted a permanent restraining order against an alleged stalker, who was arrested inside the TV offices where the presenter works with a knife.
The order granted by an LA judge means Chidi Uzomah is forbidden from having any contact with the TV and radio presenter and must stay at least 100 yards away from Seacrest for the next three years.
Uzomah is currently in custody after being charged with felony stalking and two misdemeanor counts of disobeying a prior court order.
He was arrested last month inside the E! building in LA, where Seacrest films his daily TV show.
Uzomah was carrying a knife when he was arrested.
He is also accused of attacking Seacrest’s security guard outside a hospital in September.
Seacrest was not in court for the hearing.
