British model Kate Moss has kicked off Virgin Atlantic’s 25th birthday celebrations by dressing like one of the airline’s “flying girls”.

Kate, 35, appeared alongside Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson as they posed on a Virgin jumbo jet’s wing. Kate was wearing a red playsuit and black high-heels.

She was recreating the look of one of Virgin’s “Flying Girls”, who are painted on the side of the aircrafts in the style of a 1940s pin-up girl.

Pamela Anderson dressed in a similar outfit for the company’s 21st birthday.

Sir Richard and Kate posed for photos before boarding the plane and recreated the airline’s inaugural flight, flying from London Heathrow to New York City.

Also at the celebration, Sir Richard admitted the recession is killing first-class travel.

He said: “We have heard that our principal rivals are looking to get rid of first-class all together. And it’s high-time. Who wants to spend £8,000-9,000 on a first-class ticket when they can fly with us for less than half that.

“I suspect first-class travel will disappear during this recession.”
