Hulk Hogan’s son Nick Bollea was seriously injured Sunday night after his car careened off the road and struck a palm tree.

Bollea, who was featured with the rest of his family on the pro wrestler’s VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best, was driving his yellow Toyota Supra down a four-lane highway in downtown Clearwater, Fla., when the car’s rear tires hit the raised median, police said. After fishtailing for several seconds, the car slammed into a 25-foot tall palm tree.

“His car inexplicably left the road,” Clearwater Police spokesman Wayne Shelor said, “and it was totally destroyed upon impact.”

The cause of the crash is unknown, although police believe the car was traveling at a high rate of speed. “We don’t know exactly what happened,” says Shelor, “but we are investigating.”

Bollea, 17, and his male passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle using the “jaws of life.” They were placed on a Medivac helicopter where they were flown seven minutes to nearby Bay front Medical Center in St. Petersburg.

Bollea is in serious condition, while his passenger has been listed in critical condition.

Police alerted Hulk Hogan to the accident. According to a hospital source, the wrestler and his family are in a private waiting room as Bollea is being treated for “very serious, life-threatening” injuries. Hogan declined to address the media through a hospital spokesperson on Sunday evening, but plans to make a statement on Monday morning.

Pras is still experiencing some verbal diarrhea when it comes to talking smack about Lauryn Hill. In an interview with AJ’s Playhouse on 93.3 FM in San Diego on Friday morning, Pras said that Lauryn is mentally ill.

Indian actor Salman Khan who for long has been the bad boy of Bollywood was yesterday sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment by a state court for his involvement in killing two Black Bugs an Indian deer breed that’s high on the endangered species list of wild life. I tell you this is a far greater crime that drug abuse and cocaine intake by celebs. Killing innocent animals is like the worst possible act of any high headedness on the part of these crazy people who care a damn about things other than themselves, a term like selfish and others can in no term rate their character. Director Edward Yang, who helped build Taiwan’s new wave cinema of the 1980s, will be honored posthumously with the Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award at South Korea’s Pusan film festival, organizers said on Wednesday.

Yang, who died late June at the age of 59, won the best director award at Cannes in 2000 for his movie “Yi Yi (A One and a Two),” which was hailed for its masterful display of the inner workings of a middle-class Taiwanese family.

The Pusan International Film Festival, one of the largest in Asia, will hold a retrospective of Yang’s works, organizers said. The festival takes place in early October.

Yang, born in Shanghai, raised in Taiwan and who lived in the United States, helped put Taiwanese film on the international map with movies such as “A Brighter Summer Day.”

The award will be presented to his wife, pianist Kaili Peng, organizers said.

After he was arrested, cops say that he actually threatened to hightail it back to his home stage of Michigan to avoid any charges. Arresting officers informed the court of the statements he made and he was branded an “exceptionally high flight risk”. His bond was then set at a staggering $5 million.

For Michael Jackson, it’s been one of those good news, bad news kind of weeks.

First, the bad news: The comeback-minded King of Pop, whose finances have been a big question mark in recent years, has been targeted in lawsuits by some more high-profile creditors.

Added to the list of Jackson’s ever-multiplying litigants are two entities that were formerly entrenched in his camp: the powerful Los Angeles law firm of Lavely & Singer and Prince Abdullah of Bahrain. Both are now suing Jackson for allegedly reneging on various financial obligations.

Jackson’s ex-attorneys at Lavely & Singer filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the 48-year-old entertainer in Los Angeles Superior Court for allegedly failing to pay more than $113,000 in legal bills.

Per the suit, Jackson agreed to abide by an arbitration decision to pay the legal eagles $180,000 in three installments. But when the check for the final $113,750 failed to arrive by the July 31 deadline, the firm was forced to take it to the courts.

Lavely & Singer’s complaint comes a little less than a month after a judge ordered the faded superstar to pony up approximately $256,000 in legal bills to another law firm for services provided during his highly publicized child-molestation trial in 2005.

Then there’s his former benefactor, Prince Abdullah, the Arab sheik who played host to the Gloved One and his three children at his palatial residence in the Persian Gulf country after Jackson’s acquittal on the molestation charges.

Abdullah (whose full name is Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa) provided Jackson with a lavish living space, food and chauffeur. In return, the singer purportedly agreed to launch a label with the sheik, Two Seas Record, to release Jackson’s long-awaited Hurricane Katrina benefit single and a comeback album, neither of which has materialized.

Abdullah’s suit, was filed in London, wants Jackson to live up to his promise to make the record so the billionaire can purportedly make back the millions he put into wooing the entertainer.

Jackson’s rep, Raymone Bain, was unavailable to comment on the suits. Jackson was last seen house-shopping around the Chesapeake Bay.

Meanwhile, Jackson got some welcome good news in another courtroom.

A London woman who insists she’s the mother of Jackson’s three children lost a bid in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday to butt into his ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Deborah Rowe.

Judge Robert A. Schnider rejected a petition filed by Nona Paris Lola Jackson that sought joint physical custody of 10-year-old Prince Michael, 9-year-old Paris and 5-year-old Prince Michael II, otherwise known as “Blanket.”

Radio personality Don Imus was fired from CBS radio earlier this year after making a racial slur. He called the mostly black members of the Rutger’s University women’s basketball team “nappy headed hos”. Now Kia Vaughn from the team is filing a lawsuit against Imus. She is claiming defamation of character and slander. Her lawyer says that the incident has caused damage and ruined her good name. She wants only to return to a time before the entire thing happened but because of Imus cannot. I personally think that the entire team should have filed a suit right after it happened. A racial slur like that is no accident and is considered a hate crime. But just one girl coming forward now with slander accusations doesn’t look right. It makes me not take her seriously because she waited so long. It almost makes it appear as if it’s about the money rather than the principle.

The owner of the building that portrayed Tony Soprano’s favourite sandwich shop is selling his establishment, piece by piece. He is literally selling it brick by brick. Manny Costeira is tearing down the frontage of the fictional Satriale’s Pork Store and selling each piece online for twenty-five dollars. Every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity as well. The building that was home for Satriale’s will be demolished to make way for an apartment complex called The Soprano. I can see the vacancy there going before the place has even been built. Die hard fans of “The Sopranos” TV show will purchase those pieces in a heartbeat. I don’t think it will take very long for Manny to sell off every last piece. Of course he should consider keeping one for himself.

What can I say about the wonderful way in which he played his part in the James Bond flick – Golden Eye. Cumming has also appeared on Broadway which shows that the actor does possess acting skills.
